清羽合唱团

A-Sharp Chorus is one of the largest Chinese chorus groups in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was established in 2000 and now has over 70 members. They are businessmen, scientists, teachers, and technical professionals in many fields, often with masters or doctoral degrees. They come together every week to practice singing under the training and guidance of professional conductors and vocal singing artists. The Chorus has been doing a great job facilitating American and Chinese cultural exchange and linking Chinese and Western cultures through music. 

Besides presenting masterpieces from different repertoires by Bach, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff, among others, members of the troupe have written lyrics for their own oratorios commissioned to music by renowned Chinese composers like Ah Tong, Huang Anlun, Bao Yuankai, and Chen Lechang.  These oratorios include the choral cantata “Lyrics of Overseas Chinese,” symphonic oratorio “King Yu,” “Song of the Big Wind,” and “Patch the Sky.” They tell stories of Chinese mythology, history, and Chinese-American life in the North American continent. They were premiered in San Jose and toured in international choral festivals.  The premiere performances for the oratorios “Song of the Big Wind” and “Patch the Sky” were co-produced with the Symphony of Silicon Valley Orchestra and received warm praise from the audience.

清羽合唱团位于美国硅谷，有二十年历史，大多数团员都在硅谷的IT行业工作。 合唱团演出曲目丰富，范围从古典到现代，宗教到民谣。秉承硅谷的创新精神，合唱团制作了四个原创作品， 包括一个海外游子吟合唱组曲和三个大型原创交响清唱剧。他们联手硅谷交响乐团和硅谷交响乐团合唱团在加利福尼亚剧院首演其作品，参与演出的还有来自中国的顶级歌唱艺术家和顶级大学合唱团体。 

清羽在中国巡回演出过五次，分别在北京国家大剧院，上海东方艺术及天津和台北等其他城市与著名指挥，歌唱家和一流合唱团体表演。清羽理事会主席张宁远领导制作了三部清唱剧。团员刘力前（过客）创作了合唱组曲和清唱剧歌词。通过这些文化交流，清羽合唱团很幸运地与世界级的作曲家，指挥家，歌唱家，交响乐团和合唱团合作，学习提升他们达到专业水平。
